Human beings, as God’s creatures, are called to give worship unto Him, and thus find own life’s meaning. This is the first commandment: ” You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve” (Mt 4:10).
The Christian one, who receives the grace of the Holy Spirit, is called to adore the Triune God in spirit and truth, by the Spirit’s hand, for being Him who introduces us into the spiritual and heavenly realities.
There is nothing more important and there is nothing more sublime men may do in their lives. But adoration, more than an act or a time that we offer to the Lord, demands from us a lifestyle: the adorer not only “does” adoration, but above all “is” an adorer, and all his or her life is marked by the stamp of the adoration and an increasingly more profound communion with God. In the adoration, true “workshop of transformation”, the Lord models us, transforms us and makes us more like Him every time.
Jerusalem Community not only tries to live this call as something central to our personal and community life, but also we try to “extend” adoration by different means, as guiding open periodical or weekly adoration meetings, guiding teachings and courses, in different places.
Some books of the Jerusalem Community on adoration (only in Spanish and Portuguese, so far):
Al Señor tu Dios adorarás
